SAO PAULO, March 5 (Reuters) - Brazil"s center-south cane crush is seen at a record 620 million tonnes in 2015/16 up from 600 million tonnes forecast in November, local analyst firm Agroconsult said on Thursday, citing well-distributed rains in recent weeks.
The world"s largest cane belt is expected to yield 33.5 million tonnes of sugar, up 2.5 percent from a year ago, Agroconsult said. Ethanol output is expected to jump 9.5 percent from a year ago to 28.7 billion liters.
The forecast was above other market views. Datagro said on Jan. 29 the center-south cane crop would be 584 million tonnes, forecasting 32.02 million tonnes of sugar.
